 Frequently asked Questions

  • Do we stay and watch?

You're welcome to stay and watch for the first lesson or the first 10 mins of a lesson whilst your child settles, but generally parents dont watch classes. We find that the children are easily distracted from the teaching and find it harder to concentrate.

  • How & when do we pay?

Fee's should be paid termly before the beginning of each new term or on the first lesson back. If you join part way through a term you pay at the first class for the remainder of that term. If your child does 3 lessons per week or more we can devise a payment plam for you to make the payment in monthly instalments.

We take cheques or cash, or ideally by bank transfer.

  • Do the children take dance exams and perform in shows?

We do exams every year for those who wish to and are ready. Modern exams are held in December, Tap exams in April, Ballet exams in July.  This ensures that the exams are evenly spread out for the children studying all 3 disciplines. To keep exam continuity for the children to be able to work their way up through the grades quicker, we put on a show every 3 years. The shows we do are very large productions and gives the students vital experience on a stage.

  • If I'm a teenager who has never danced before or with very little previous training would I have to start with the very young children?

No, we always do our very best to keep students in similar age groups. Some newcomers find it useful to take advantage of private lessons where we can develop an individuals skills.

  • What do I wear for the trial session, is there a set uniform?

For your first FREE trial session pupils need to wear something comfortable like a tracksuit / trainers. If you enjoy the class and join our school we have a set uniform which is availble from our dance wear shop at North Street Church hall.

  • Are all teachers qualified and D.B.S. (police) checked?

Yes all our teachers are DBS checked as we take child protection and safety very seriously.
