Terms & Conditions


  1. All fees are to be paid by the first lesson of term. For pupils attending three lessons a week or more fees may be paid in two instalments. The first instalment due prior to the start of term and the second prior to half term. If due to Covid - 19 we have to go into lockdown or we have snow we will continue all classes online via zoom so we can continue as normal so no fees will be refunded.
  2. There is a late payment charge of £20 for any late fees not paid after the first two weeks of each new term. 
  3. Pupils must wear the TSD school uniform which can be fitted and purchased from our dancewear shop on the first floor at North Street Church hall. Due to safety no jewellery should be worn in class and hair must be groomed appropriately. No food or chewing gum is allowed in class other than water. 
  4. TSD holds the rights over any photography or DVD filming which can also be used for our school promotion. If you are not happy with this please can you put it in writing.
  5. There is no parking at the church car park this is for teacher’s and church members who have permits only.
  6. One term’s notice in writing or payment in lieu is required if a pupil is to be withdrawn from the school.
  7. The teaching practise of dance requires the pupil’s to be aware of technical placement of their bodies therefore teachers may need to have a hands on approach. This will only ever be executed in an appropriate and professional manner.
  8. We are only responsible for pupils during their lesson time so parents should be there to supervise pupils before and after class. If pupil’s have a break between lessons they are not under the care and supervision of TSD so please make sure pupils are safe and a responsible adult/guardian is there to wait with them.
  9. The main front door MUST be kept shut at all times and all pupils should wait inside to be collected safely.
  10. TSD or North Street Church is not responsible for any damage or lost items in the changing rooms. The premises at the church must also be respected at all times.
  11. The waiting room areas and changing rooms are for students/parents/guardian’s only of TSD and must show respect to all other members of the school. There must be no bad language or swearing.
  12. Due to the new GDPR rule, TSD will only hold data essential for the provisions of our services e.g. Contact details, emergency contacts and any medical history whilst enrolled within the school.
  13. In signing this application I accept the full responsibility for the payment of fees and a terms notice will be given in writing or payment in lieu if I wish to withdraw the pupil from the school.

Policies


  1. All pupils must fill out a registration form with full details on and it is the parent’s responsibility to notify the school of any changes to your contact details.
  2. In case of a fire emergency teachers will lead pupils out to the meeting point in the main car park.
  3. The school undertakes regular risk assessments to ensure the premises is safe. 
  4. All teachers are DBS checked along with chaperones at show time.
  5. The school is equipped with a first aid box, ice packs and accident report book. If required the school will contact the emergency services and of course parent.
  6. Parents understand that dance is a very active discipline like all sports and injuries can happen. The school accepts no responsibility for any injuries sustained during class time. Teachers should be informed for any previous or ongoing injuries or any health conditions before participating in class.
  7. All teachers are covered by TSD’s public liability insurance and the certificate is in the principal’s office should anyone wish to see it, along with the first aid certificate. 
  8. The pupil’s welfare is vital so there is to be no smoking in the building and no using of alcohol or drugs to be found.
  9. All pupil’s and parents must be respectful of each other whatever their age, culture, gender, ability and no bullying will be tolerated as the safe guarding of all pupils is most important.
  10. We have an open door policy and teach to the best of our ability in a fun, enthusiastic, encouraging and respectful manner. So please always come and speak to us if you are worried about anything. 
  11. Any suspicion that a child has been abused by a member of staff should be reported to the principal and the necessary steps will be taken and investigated.
